Hola! My name is Romy - Welcome to my Site!
I grew up in Lima, Peru, and moved to Syracuse, NY at 19 to pursue a double major in Photojournalism and Information Tech at Syracuse University. Photography was an escape and a way of documenting my memories. Growing up my mother always had a camera in hand, and I treasure all the moments she captured of our family. I didn’t know how special these would be until I was older.
This is my 5th year living in Brooklyn, NY, and officially, I have begun my journey of becoming an Art Therapist! I am taking my first pre-requisite, a class in Human Development, and next is Abnormal Psychology before applying to Grad School. At the same time, I work for an Art Studio in Manhattan! It’s one of my favorite places in New York. You can do pottery, painting, figure drawing, and more! I have been so lucky to work here and alongside an amazing team.
At this studio, I am learning to make their art materials, such as watercolors, oil pastels, and conte crayons - soon-to-make Ink, and Gouache!
This will be the year I fully dive into being an artist! I am available for hire for photography shoots, art commissions, and workshops! I can’t wait to connect and share all these experiences with people around me. Thank you for reading!
